Many of you will already be hyped up to this, if not waiting for it with more excited agitation than a room full of kids on Christmas Eve. But there is no way that we could let the Os Gemeos show that opened at Prism Gallery LA this last weekend pass without comment.
‘Miss You’ is an immersive experience, filled with new paintings and sculptures from the Brazilian twins who, in our minds at least, are amongst the very best visual artists working today. Their contribution to last year’s Art In The Streets was the highlight of an incredible show, and their vivid and fantastical signature pieces, filled with a visual language and iconic characters of their own creation, and bursting with color, sounds, wit and a dash of magic, are simply jaw-dropping.
Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo, are best known for their fantastical and expansive large-scale installations and murals, often defined as street art, but also transcending that sometimes limiting label. Drawn from the incredibly dense layers of inspirations of their hometown of Sao Paulo, the work of Os Gemeos creates a style all of its own. The first solo show they have enjoyed at Prism, if you take in one art show all year make it this one.
