Our playlists are an important part of our output here at Twelve Bar. In part a reflection of our influences, in part a guide to what we’re rocking to at present. In part simply our way of showing our love of good music that is at the heart of the brand and bring some of that love to your good selves. So when we hand over the reins you know it must be serious, and to people who also know their tunes inside out.
And that is definitely the case with this week’s guest compilers, the good folks at Jenesis Magazine, rapidly emerging as one of the key digital locations to those serious about their music. They dropped a bomb on us with their selection.
From the relatively recent yet instantly classic such as Frank Ocean’s ‘Swim Good’, Skeme’s ‘Thank God’ or Meek Mill’s ‘I’m A Boss’, to the downright all time classics such as Dipset’s ‘I really Mean It’ and Jhene Aiko’s ‘Do Better Blues’, the overall theme is simply quality. You’ll even get a couple of surprises with Pepper ‘Ashes’ and Chuuwee ‘French Inhale’. Less known perhaps, but equally great.
Remember that when it comes to our playlists, and our guest compilers, it’s all love.
