Twelve Bar Playlists

There is no doubt that the Peas‘n’Carrots International crew know their music. How could a stable that contains the talents of young Casey Veggies not be deep into the music? Whenever they come around our way they bring something fresh for us to tune our ears into, and so in honor of the launch of our second collabo tee, hot on the heels of the first sellout run, we thought we’d hand the reins of the famed Twelve Bar playlist over to them. And they didn’t disappoint with a selection that is as ripe and full of goodness as a bag full of fresh veggies. Ready to harvest direct to your ears.
Casey Veggies – Swag Worth A Million
Bonus track from the deluxe edition of Young Veggie’s brilliant ‘Sleeping In Class’ set, dropping 20 September 2011 and sure to raise the swag factor higher still, and definitely past the million mark.
Hall & Oates – Sara Smile

Classic blue-eyed soul from the under-rated Philly sound of Hall & Oates. One of the smoothest ballads going, taken from their self-titled 1976 debut.
Future – Itchin’

Atlanta hot property, and a future star living up to his name in every way, has us itchin’ to hear more. Deep roller.
Cash Money Niggaz – B.G feat Big Tymers, Turk and Bulletproof

Mannie Fresh brings the piano-led production smarts, but BG shows off his brilliant flow on a near perfect track from a near perfect album. And only 16 years of age. Hot Boy indeed.
Max B – Sexy Love

Before taking on 75 years in the pen, Max B dropped some of the most original rhymes to emerge from NYC in the 2000s. Mumbled rhymes they might be, but oh so ripe. The beginning of the waviness.
Kanye West feat. Cam’ron and Consequence – Gone

Trademark West production over a rebuilt sample of Otis Redding’s incredible ‘It’s Too Late’. In the hands of West, Cam’ron and Consequence the lilting ballad becomes a tour de force of ego like only West can deliver. Killa Cam steals the show though.
Jill Scott – The Way

Few things soothe as completely as Jill Scott’s incredible ‘Who Is Jill Scot? Words and Sounds Vol.1’, but ‘The Way’ may just be the cherry on the top. Awesome.
Casey Veggies feat. Rich Hill – Ain’t Got Time

From the ‘Bum Shit’ mixtape hosted by none other than our guests Peas’n’Carrots, CV mixes with Rich Hill, and cooks up a classic jam with a hint of Carrots.
Thievery Corporation – Ambient

Effortless electronic ambience with a dub flavor from Washington’s laid-back maestros.
Main Attrakionz – Bossalinis and Fooliyones Pt. 2

Oakland duo Squadda B and MondreM.A.N are making some of the most innovative hip-hop music around right now. Lo-fi, ambient, fuzzed out, cosmic and vicious, and totally ahead of the game.
Jah Cure – What Will It Take (Istanbul Riddim)

Taken from his 2007 post-prison set ‘True Relfections…A New Beginning’, Jah Cure shows why he is up there with the greatest of modern dancehall toasters. So much soul in his voice, and the Istanbul riddim is fire.
Sade – Cherish The Day (Chopped and Screwed Mix)

A suitably mellow chopped and screwed take on Sade’s brilliant ‘Cherish The Day’. Like drowning in a sea of titties, strung out on kush biscuits.

Good music is the driving force behind everything we do here at Twelve Bar.

That’s why we’ve been digging through the Twelve Bar vaults to pull out our favorite tunes for your browsing and
listening pleasure, and keeping our ears to the ground for what is fresh now and in the future. And then we’re putting
them altogether into a delicious musical gumbo and serving you a fresh bowlful of twelve select tracks every week.
