Why Ghostface Is Amazing

In addition to being one of the original members of the Wu and putting out some of the best hip-hop records ever made, there is one very simple reason why Ghostface is amazing. No, not because he is being made into a vinyl doll that talks and carries a Swarovski crystal encrusted goblet. Quite simply because he is the only rapper who has ever been able to make a hip-hop ballad sound amazing. Think about it. Sure LL Cool J’s “I Need Love” is a classic but, if we are honest with ourselves, it’s really a bit of an embarrassment. Give Ghostface a ballad on the other hand and he will just kill it. Take the duet with Mary J Blige “All That I Need Is You” as an example. It’s incredible and “Back Like That” with Ne-Yo is, in my humble opinion, even better. Think about it. Who else has recorded hip-hop ballads and pulled them off so well? I’m not even sure if he realizes it although he probably does but Ghostface is pretty much the Teddy Pendergrass of rap and I doubt even Ladies Love would argue that.
